Surgical Services

We prioritize your pet's comfort and care from surgery to recovery.

Your pet may have to undergo surgery at any point in their life. These can range from routine spays and neuters, to more complex orthopedic revisions. We are pet parents like you and understand how stressful it can be to think about your pet “going under the knife.” But, with our decades of combined experience and updated facilities, we can guarantee safe and effective operations. If your pet ever needs an operation, we make sure to explain the entire process with you because we believe education is key for all owners. Please call us at 613-695-2060 for more details about our surgical services.

Do you perform surgeries in your clinic?

Yes. We are fully equipped to perform a wide variety of surgical procedures including dental extractions, spays, neuters, wound repair and more. We also work with specialists in the area and can refer your pet to them if they have a more complex condition. In general, the most common veterinary surgeries can be performed at our facility.

Is anesthesia safe for pets?

Most pets are good candidates for anesthesia. Prior to your pet’s surgery, we conduct a series of exams to determine if they can be given anesthesia and at what amount. Anesthesia or sedation that makes your pet unconscious is necessary for any kind of surgical procedure to ensure a humane and effective outcome. This is even true for dental cleanings. Having tools in their mouth can be quite stressful for your pet. Cleaning below the gum line and emergency extractions can also be quite painful. Anesthesia prevents unnecessary stress and pain for our patients.

Do you offer cat declawing?

No, we do not offer cat declawing (onychectomy) procedures. Declawing is a major surgery that involves the removal of the last bone in each toe. This procedure can lead to significant short- and long-term health and behavioral consequences for cats, including pain, mobility issues, and stress-related behaviors. Our team is happy to help your cat thrive while preserving their natural behaviors.

How much does pet surgery cost?

Prices will vary depending on your pet’s weight, specific condition and operation. Please reach out to us so we can provide you with an accurate estimate.
